Something of my own is coming.
I began as a seamstress. Every bride I’ve fitted since has taught me what a gown must do to be truly loved — and in September 2027 I add one more title: designer, with my first bridal collection under my own name.
The collection will be small — just 8 to 10 wedding gown designs — each one designed by me and made to each bride’s own measurements — I take every bride’s measurements myself — and made in your length, so your gown arrives ready for the celebration.
When your gown arrives, it will already be your length — no hemming needed. In essence, you skip the huge cost of hem alterations, which can sometimes be the most laborious work of all. The finishing touches happen here with me: I adjust the bodice, shoulders, and hips if they need it, and I create your bustle — those fittings are a separate alteration cost, as with any gown.
One honest word about made-to-measure: your gown is my design, made in your measurements — it is not a custom gown. The factories work carefully from the measurements I take, but made-to-measure cannot promise a perfect fit the moment you step into it. More often than not, a gown still needs a fitting touch when it arrives — and those alterations are a cost to expect, as with any gown.
Custom is something else entirely. With custom, you bring me your sketch, your magazine clips, the pictures of the gown you envision — and I make the pattern myself, fit a mock-up on you, and correct it until the fit and the design are exactly right before your real fabric is ever cut. If custom is your dream, it’s a service I’ve always offered — just ask me.
When the collection debuts, I’ll celebrate with a trunk show in my Summit showroom a few days later.
